Framing And Structuring
Our timber frame came from oak trees from trust woodland near Coniston, which came down during the storms that hit Cumbria in January 2005. The floor and roof joists are softwood and the inside floor is beech, with the external walkways and floor being made of larch, with beautiful oak balustrades. These floor timbers are from local Trust woodlands too; around 3 dozen mature trees have been utilised.
