Portal Installation
To keep the inside space free and open to the ceiling, avoiding the use of posts or cross beams, the structural assessment of the building required us to use two pairs of glulam portals for support and bracing. These were manufactured away from site and transported and installed in four large pieces. Although unsure at first because of the glue involved and the addition to the design, the look of them is quite pleasing and they enhance the beauty of the interior space.
